In our Linen design studio in Great Barrington, our custom embroidery work brings an attractive, tactile and personal experience to our interior design clients–and to us. We take great satisfaction in creating finely embroidered details for table and home.
Our interest in this artful craft began with stitched images of horses, embroidered on hand towels, for our equestrian clients (towels meant to be used, washed and used again, not merely as decorative details). Through the years, we’ve developed a custom-embroidered line of textiles for home and table.
While many people think of custom embroidery as laurel crowns framing a family monogram, that’s rarely what we do. Images from nature and geometric motifs, created with a simple satin stitch, are the creative work that resonates with us.
In combination with Houles or Samuel & Sons trim or banding, you can have a strong design element. Properly curated and edited, these designs are understated and tasteful. There’s nothing quite like an image embroidered into the corner of a Libeco linen top sheet or sham.
And now, we seek out embroidery detail in sourcing many of our upholstery fabrics for our interior design work. Below, a banquette custom designed in our studio and dressed in fabric by Manuel Canovas offers beautiful embroidery detail.
These throw pillows for a client, made in our studio, are enhanced by embroidered stitching detail.
Whether looking for a gift or a striking accent detail for your home, custom embroidery is something special to consider.
